Teodor Currentzis’ musicAeterna postpones its first international residency at the KKL Lucerne until October 2021

The coronavirus situation in Switzerland remains serious. The Swiss Government (Bundesrat) has therefore decided to extend restrictions that have been in place since December 2020. Restaurants as well as cultural, sports and recreational facilities will remain closed until the end of February 2021. For this reason, Teodor Currentzis and his musicAeterna orchestra will postpone their first international residency, which was originally due to take place on 18, 19 and 20 February 2021 in the KKL Lucerne to 6, 7, and 8 October 2021.

The concert programs, as well as the programs for all events, masterclasses and the press conference will be announced in spring. Reimbursement for concert tickets will be possible after the announcement of the new program.
Thank you very much for your understanding.

Tanya Skok’s Master Class Baroque Social Dance

The Baroque Dance workshop focuses on the social dance code of the 18th century. This period was a crucial point in dance, when professional stage dance became an increasingly established art form, often tightly connected to opera. Social dance was mostly inspired by this tradition. Many minuets, gavottes and other dances from operas and ballets serve as an inspiration for fashionable social dances.

Researchers of the baroque dance form were able to restore a drawing and conceptual design of the 17-century rigadoon dance, as well as tambourines and musettes from encrypted manuscripts. Together with Tanya Skok, a Slovenian choreographer and dance teacher, everyone can feel and live through the very rhythms and forms that Rameau captured in his music sheets, master the basic forms of baroque dances and immerse themselves into the world of country dances that have prevailed on dance floors for many years. This is an unforgettable experience and a preamble to the Sound of Light concert.

Free tickets can be purchased on the website of KKL Lucerne. Please note that the number of participants is limited to 50.
