Vico Torriani was awarded the Golden Record for his "Calcutta Song" in 1960. Since then, this Schlager has stood for a collection of melodies which, in addition to him, Caterina Valente and Peter Alexander have shaped in an unforgettable way.
In the 1950s and 1960s, the Schlager was the dominant form of light music. Popular singers, above all Vico Torriani, Caterina Valente and Peter Alexander achieved high sales figures for their recordings, had their own television shows and were the stars of popular music culture. Enjoy an evening of hits that have long since become cult hits such as Silver Threads, Capri Fischer, La Montanara, Pineapple from Caracas, In Switzerland, All of Paris is dreaming of love, Tipitipitipso, Play me Habanero one more time, Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie, Die kleine Kneipe, Komm und bedien' dich bei mir, Der Papa wird's richten, Ich zähle täglich meine Sorgen, Bist du einsam heut' Nacht, Der letzte Walzer and many more, which were specially arranged for the singers Samuel Zünd (Vico Torriani), Julia Schiwowa (Caterina Valente) and Michael Raschle (Peter Alexander) and the Celebration Pops Orchestra.
Julia Schiwowa, Michael Raschle and Samuel Zünd slip into the roles of the protagonists. They all have entertainment in their blood and are at home on the big show stages of Switzerland and Germany. The same goes for bandleader Gilbert Tinner, a sought-after arranger in the field of light music, including for radio and television productions and, since 2005, for the Pepe Lienhard Big Band. The musicians of his 14-piece Celebration Pops Orchestra belong to the crème de la crème of the Swiss music scene. They are at home in all styles and have been in the recording studio and on stage with artists such as Caterina Valente, Shinéad O'Connor, Udo Jürgens, Pepe Lienhard, Kuno Lauener, Büne Huber or Sina.
