Amid the eclectic range of catering presented by the KKL, the RED, with its panoramic views of Lake Lucerne, represents the warmth and ambience of a fire. The lighting effects of the vinotheque add a sculptural dimension as they modulate from sombre, shimmering red to iridescent, flaming orange, educing the elemental essence of fire in a contemporary aesthetic. The crimson hue underscores the modern-day style of the restaurant, calling to mind the conceptual elements present in the architecture of Jean Nouvel. Stylistic touches are everywhere - the glazed room-dividers, the warm leather of the tables and comfortable chairs, the subdued wood hues and soft carpeting.
Cuisine
The RED provides authentically refined dining midst an ambience of understated elegance. It's where Executive chef Christian Iten presents his personal take on Slow Food. He makes much of fresh taste sensations and bases his creations on regional produce. The RED's cuisine is noted for its capacity for generating unexpected yet unfailingly harmonious gourmet experiences.
